create a proper error when connection to database fails

Description

i would suggest a better way to instruct the user on what to do when the connection to the database fails. right now, by default the qcubed error handler is used. We should try to find a way to display a more instructive error when the connection to the database fails, where we would also instruct the user on what files should be changed in order to setup the database connection.
